Ooredoo and DE-CIX Launch Qatar’s First Commercial Internet Exchange, “Doha IX”

Doha, Qatar — October 3, 2025: Ooredoo has partnered with DE-CIX, one of the world’s leading Internet Exchange operators, to launch Doha IX, Qatar’s first commercial Internet Exchange (IX). The new platform, now live with its first networks already connected, represents a major step forward in strengthening the nation’s digital infrastructure and positioning Qatar as a regional connectivity hub.

Hosted in Ooredoo’s state-of-the-art data centre, Doha IX provides a secure, neutral interconnection environment for regional and international hyperscalers, ISPs, cloud services, and content providers. The platform is designed to deliver low-latency, high-performance connectivity while lowering costs through more efficient traffic exchange.

Ooredoo Qatar’s Chief Business Officer, Thani Ali I A Al-Malki, said:
