Manama — The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the Second Gulf Intellectual Property Conference, organized by the Bahrain Intellectual Property Society, bringing together a wide range of business leaders, investors, innovators, and legal professionals from across the region to address the evolving landscape of intellectual property (IP) in the digital era.
The conference focused on modern legal frameworks and legislation that support innovation and foster a sustainable investment climate, emphasizing how intellectual property can transform from rigid legal structures into creative, marketable economic assets.
Serving as a regional platform for collaboration, the event facilitated knowledge exchange among legal experts, policymakers, and innovators to strengthen IP protection in alignment with international best practices.
Three key sessions structured the program:
- Session One: Explored future strategies for intellectual property within GCC countries, examining how digital transformation and the knowledge economy are shaping regional innovation ecosystems.
- Session Two: Focused on the legal dimensions of IP and digital justice, outlining protection mechanisms that promote sustainable investments and safeguard innovators’ rights.
- Session Three: Highlighted the role of intellectual property in driving economic growth and sustainable development across the Gulf.
The conference underscored Bahrain’s commitment to cultivating a balanced legislative and regulatory environment that encourages innovation, supports the creative economy, and integrates digital justice principles into IP governance.
Building on the success of the inaugural edition held in 2023, this year’s conference reaffirmed Bahrain’s leadership in promoting regional dialogue on IP rights, digital transformation, and the monetization of intangible assets as engines of economic resilience.
