Karachi — October 12, 2025:
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed two landmark memorandums of understanding (MoUs) focused on cooperation in information technology (IT) and sports, marking a new phase in bilateral engagement centered on youth development and digital innovation.
The agreements were signed at a ceremony held at the Sindh Governor House in Karachi between Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori and Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council (SPJBC). The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki, Consul General Mohammed Abdullah Al-Subaie, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq.
Under the MoUs, both nations will collaborate on IT education, youth exchange programs, training initiatives, and joint sporting events aimed at building skills, fostering innovation, and deepening people-to-people ties.
Governor Tessori highlighted that the agreements reflect “historic ties built on mutual respect and shared progress,” noting that joint efforts in technology and sports would empower youth and strengthen bilateral relations. He also announced plans to organize a friendly cricket match between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a gesture of cultural and social partnership.
“Education, innovation, and sports are the three pillars of a sustainable and prosperous future,” Tessori said, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to equipping its youth with modern skills and global exposure.
During his visit, Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud also met with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) leadership to explore opportunities for trade, investment, and industrial collaboration. Discussions covered sectors such as petrochemicals, manufacturing, agriculture, and IT, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s diversification goals and Pakistan’s drive for industrial modernization.
KCCI leaders urged Saudi investors to consider joint ventures in petrochemical infrastructure, including a long-awaited naphtha cracker project, alongside opportunities in agribusiness, food processing, and digital services.
Prince Mansour expressed strong interest in Pakistan’s potential, reaffirming Riyadh’s commitment to expanding economic cooperation across energy, digital technology, and youth-led innovation.
The signing of these MoUs and the accompanying business dialogues signify renewed momentum in Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations, with both nations positioning youth, technology, and enterprise as central to their shared future.
