Zain Kuwait and EPA Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Environmental Awareness and Sustainability

Kuwait City, November 10, 2025 — Zain Kuwait has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Environment Public Authority (EPA) to strengthen collaboration in environmental awareness, sustainability, and data-driven policymaking. The agreement, signed by Zain Kuwait CEO Nawaf Al-Gharabally and EPA Acting Director General Nouf Behbehani, marks a major step toward building a unified national framework for environmental responsibility.

The partnership aims to boost environmental awareness, expand community engagement, and exchange data and technical expertise to support evidence-based decisions and national sustainability programs. Key focus areas include developing joint awareness campaigns, promoting e-waste recycling, supporting pollution mitigation efforts, and aligning corporate practices with Kuwait’s sustainability agenda.

Al-Gharabally emphasized Zain’s commitment to transforming environmental awareness into measurable results:

“Technology is a bridge that connects innovation to sustainable impact. Through our cooperation with the EPA, we will translate awareness into operational practices that reduce environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and embed sustainability across our value chain.”

He added that the collaboration will feature clear performance indicators, joint progress reports, and youth-driven initiatives in schools and universities to foster a culture of circular economy and environmental responsibility.

Behbehani praised Zain as a national leader in corporate sustainability:

“This MoU crowns a shared vision for a sustainable environment and a responsible economy. Protecting the environment requires synergy between the public and private sectors — partnerships like this one combine technical expertise and institutional will to serve future generations.”

The partnership builds upon Zain’s sustainability roadmap, including its Platinum membership in the Kuwait Green Building Council to improve energy and waste efficiency, as well as its e-waste reduction and youth innovation programs.

Together, Zain and the EPA aim to turn sustainability principles into actionable national programs, driving Kuwait toward a more circular, inclusive, and environmentally conscious economy.
