Ooredoo Kuwait Launches Nation’s First NVIDIA-Powered AI Data Center, Pioneering Smart Digital Economy

Kuwait City, November 9, 2025 — Ooredoo Kuwait has officially unveiled Kuwait’s first sovereign AI-enabled data center, developed in strategic collaboration with NVIDIA, marking a defining moment in the country’s digital transformation journey. Announced during the Al-Jarida MoneyTech Summit 2025, this milestone positions Kuwait as a regional leader in AI innovation and digital infrastructure.

Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, CEO of Ooredoo Kuwait, emphasized the strategic importance of this launch: “The true energy of the future lies in artificial intelligence, and Ooredoo Kuwait is proud to be the torchbearer of this transformation. We’re not entering the AI race — we’re already leading it.” The new data center integrates NVIDIA’s H200 GPU technology, establishing the country’s first national AI infrastructure aligned with Kuwait’s AI strategy and Vision 2035.

The initiative cements Ooredoo’s evolution from a telecom operator into Kuwait’s digital backbone, empowering both public and private sectors to deploy AI-driven solutions across healthcare, education, banking, energy, and government services. Within Ooredoo, AI is already enhancing operations through predictive analytics, network optimization, recruitment automation, and sustainability-driven energy management.

Issa Haidar, Chief Technology Officer, said the move “redefines what data centers mean for Kuwait’s next digital era,” enabling enterprises and entrepreneurs to build AI models locally under stringent data sovereignty and security standards. The infrastructure complements Ooredoo’s 5G Advanced and fiber optic networks, creating a unified foundation for Kuwait’s digital economy.

Nouf Al-Mashaan, Senior Director of External Affairs and Strategic Projects, highlighted the project’s alignment with Kuwait Vision 2035 and its role in fostering innovation through AI skill-building programs, national hackathons, and local large language model (LLM) development. “This isn’t just a technological milestone; it’s a collective effort to build a smarter, more sustainable Kuwait,” she noted.

Through its collaboration with NVIDIA, Ooredoo Kuwait aims to accelerate AI adoption, drive national capacity-building, and position Kuwait as a global AI hub.
