Morocco and Gabon Strengthen Digital Alliance to Drive AI and Skills Development Across Africa

Rabat, November 4, 2025 — Morocco and Gabon have taken a major step toward deepening regional digital cooperation through a new partnership focused on artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and skills development. The announcement came during a meeting between Amal Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny, Morocco’s Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and Mark Alexander Dumba, Gabon’s Minister of Digital Economy, Telecommunications, and Post.

Minister Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny described the visit as a “practical step to translate partnership into tangible projects for the benefit of African youth,” reaffirming Morocco’s commitment to African digital integration and knowledge transfer. She highlighted Morocco’s achievements under the “Digital Morocco for Sustainable Development” (D4SD Hub) initiative—launched in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)—as a model for promoting sustainable digital innovation and AI collaboration across the Arab-African region.

She also showcased Morocco’s digital upskilling programs, including JobInTech and youth-oriented AI education initiatives, inviting Gabon to participate in GITEX Africa as a platform for cross-border collaboration.

Minister Dumba praised Morocco’s leadership in digital transformation and expressed Gabon’s intention to leverage Moroccan expertise in developing its own digital economy. The two countries agreed to launch joint AI training programs, promote data analytics education, and expand remote digital learning platforms to empower young professionals across Africa.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of Morocco’s role as a regional innovation hub and a key driver of Africa’s digital future. Both nations underscored their shared vision of a digitally sovereign and interconnected continent, aligned with the Supreme Royal Directives of King Mohammed VI.
