Morocco and Gabon Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Digital Transformation and AI Development in Africa

Rabat, November 4, 2025 — Morocco and Gabon have deepened their cooperation in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and skills development following high-level talks between Amal Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny, Morocco’s Minister for Digital Transition and Administration Reform, and Mark Alexander Dumba, Gabon’s Minister of Digital Economy, Telecommunications, and Post.

The meeting marked a major step in strengthening African digital integration, aligning with Morocco’s vision to build a connected, knowledge-driven continent. Minister Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny highlighted the Digital Morocco for Sustainable Development (D4SD Hub)—developed with the UNDP—as a platform promoting sustainable digital innovation and AI collaboration across Africa.

Morocco invited Gabon to participate in GITEX Africa 2026, underscoring opportunities for knowledge exchange and joint training programs in AI, data analytics, and emerging technologies. Gabon’s delegation praised Morocco’s leadership in technology and expressed interest in adopting its digital governance and education frameworks.

Both countries agreed to launch joint AI capacity-building initiatives and expand digital education platforms, reinforcing youth empowerment and cross-border collaboration. The initiative positions Morocco as a regional innovation hub and Gabon as a growing partner in Africa’s digital transformation journey.
