Umniah plans to invest JD300 million over the next five years to accelerate Jordan’s digital infrastructure growth, according to CEO Faisal Al-Jalahma. The investment will focus on expanding 5G and fiber networks, upgrading data-center capacity, and strengthening cloud-service capabilities.
Speaking to the Jordan News Agency Petra, Al-Jalahma said the company has spent the past two years intensifying nationwide fiber rollout, advancing 5G deployment, and launching new data-center and cloud projects. These include a major fiber link between Amman and Aqaba, enhancing domestic and international connectivity.
Al-Jalahma noted that Umniah’s rebranding under the Beyond Group reflects the parent company’s commitment to Jordan’s digital growth, bringing deeper technical expertise into the country.
He described Jordan’s telecom industry as one of the region’s most dynamic, with rising demand for advanced services driving strong uptake of Umniah’s 5G offerings. Sustained investment in 5G towers, fiber infrastructure, cloud computing, data security, and IoT solutions is now essential, he said, as competition shifts beyond traditional pricing strategies.
Highlighting digital transformation, Al-Jalahma said both public and private sectors face challenges but stand to benefit significantly from improved infrastructure. Umniah has invested heavily in strategic sectors—connecting 3,500 schools serving 1.5 million students, and partnering with leading global companies to strengthen hosting, security, and cloud capabilities, including collaboration with Microsoft on cloud and AI.
In 2024, Umniah began developing what will become Jordan’s largest data center and one of the region’s most advanced facilities, reinforcing its evolution into a full-service technology provider capable of delivering integrated telecom, internet, and digital solutions.
Al-Jalahma praised growing government support for digitization through investment-friendly reforms and the early rollout of 5G under the Economic Modernization Vision, adding that Jordan’s skilled telecom workforce gives the country a strong competitive edge.
He also underscored Umniah’s commitment to social responsibility. Through cybersecurity and technology training initiatives, national partnerships, and its “Opportunity” programme—renovating playgrounds and schoolyards in underserved communities—the company has supported 24 schools and 16,000 students. Its clean-energy solutions for network towers reflect broader sustainability goals.
