Zain Group Advances Regional Disability Inclusion With New Multi-Market Initiatives

Zain Group marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by moving its inclusion agenda from policy to practice across its eight operating markets. As part of its long-term WE ABLE 2030 vision, the company introduced three new initiatives that embed accessibility into recruitment, training, operations, and technology development.

Zain has become the first telecom operator in the Middle East and North Africa to partner with the Business Disability Forum, enabling the group to integrate accessibility standards into products, services, and procurement processes. In parallel, Zain is opening applications for a new intake of its GROW program—a three-month training and internship track tailored for graduates with disabilities—set to launch in four markets in 2026.

Internally, Zain will introduce personalized Individual Development Plans for employees with disabilities. These plans, informed by a detailed internal survey, aim to support clear career progression pathways, leadership development, and long-term retention.

The WE ABLE 2030 framework forms a key pillar of Zain’s broader “4WARD—Progress with Purpose” strategy and reflects a growing regional commitment to disability inclusion. Advocates across the Middle East and Africa have long called for accessible infrastructure, assistive technologies, and more equitable hiring practices—areas Zain is now actively expanding through structured, measurable programs.
