MEPS introduces Click to Pay through Mastercard Gateway in Jordan

Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) has launched Click to Pay for its e-commerce merchants in Jordan through Mastercard Gateway, strengthening its role in the country’s digital payments ecosystem and expanding access to secure, frictionless online checkout experiences.

Click to Pay enables password-free payments, simplifying the checkout process while improving security and conversion rates for merchants. The solution integrates directly into the payment flow, allowing customers to complete transactions quickly without repeatedly entering card details.

Through Mastercard Gateway, MEPS merchants gain access to a global network connecting more than 240 acquirers and supporting over 35 payment types. The service is delivered via Merchant Cloud, Mastercard’s next-generation payments platform that unifies services from Mastercard and its partners, helping businesses navigate cross-border commerce and scale into new markets.

The collaboration allows MEPS to extend Click to Pay capabilities to licensed banks, payment service providers, money exchange houses, and fintechs across Jordan, enabling them to deliver secure and convenient domestic and cross-border payment solutions.

“This is more than a collaboration. It reflects our efforts to advance digital payment solutions in Jordan,” said Ali Abdel Jabbar, CEO of MEPS. “By introducing Click to Pay through Mastercard Merchant Cloud, we’re expanding secure and convenient payment options for our partners, helping them meet evolving consumer needs in a connected marketplace. Our goal is to deliver practical, innovative solutions that support growth and efficiency.”

Saud Swar, Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and the Levant at Mastercard, said the partnership will accelerate digital adoption. “At Mastercard, we are focused on driving innovation that makes payments simple, seamless and secure for consumers and merchants. Our collaboration with MEPS will help accelerate online transactions and support the growth of Jordan’s digital economy.”

Click to Pay embeds built-in security using network recognition and EMV® 3-D Secure. It also leverages Mastercard’s tokenization technology, replacing sensitive card data with encrypted tokens to protect financial information and improve transaction approval rates.

The launch builds on MEPS’s track record of enabling payment innovation in Jordan, from expanding ATM networks to supporting the digitisation of government services. With Mastercard, MEPS aims to simplify payment journeys and deliver future-ready infrastructure for financial institutions and merchants.

E-commerce is expected to become a key driver of Jordan’s economic growth. According to Statista, the country’s e-commerce market is projected to reach $2.36 billion in 2025 and grow at a compound annual rate of 7.05 percent through 2030.
