The Embassy of India in Kuwait, in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Kuwait Chapter, hosted the “India–Kuwait AI Impact Dialogue 2026” on January 19 at the Salwa Sabah Conference Center in Kuwait.
The dialogue was organised as a lead-up to the “India AI Impact Summit 2026,” scheduled to take place in New Delhi from February 16 to 20. The event brought together professionals and experts from Kuwait’s information technology sector to explore developments in artificial intelligence and opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
Discussions focused on AI-driven innovation, ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence, capacity building, and collaboration between India and Kuwait in emerging digital technologies.
Addressing the gathering, Indian Ambassador Paramita Tripathi said India remains committed to leveraging artificial intelligence for inclusive development and to strengthening partnerships with countries such as Kuwait across research, technology, education, healthcare, energy and innovation. She highlighted India’s rapid progress in AI and digital technologies, noting that the country has established itself as a global hub supported by a talent pool of more than five million technology professionals.
Tripathi said India ranks among the world’s leading countries in AI skill penetration and in the application of AI across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, finance, education and governance. These advancements, she noted, are powered by India’s digital public infrastructure and are driving productivity gains and innovation.
She also pointed to India’s startup ecosystem, which includes over 100,000 startups and more than 100 unicorns, with a growing number focused on AI-led solutions in fintech, health tech, climate technology, logistics, smart cities and enterprise automation.
Rohit Agarwal, Chairperson of the ICAI Kuwait Chapter, emphasised the importance of deeper collaboration between the technical sectors of India and Kuwait.
The keynote address from India was delivered by Nithya Subramanian, Senior Director of Data and AI Code at Best Buy, on “Building an AI-Ready Organization: Data Culture, Digital Literacy & Leadership.” Jamal Al-Humoud, Founder and CEO of Journey Consulting in Kuwait, led a session on “Building Trustworthy AI: Safety, Security & Governance in the Age of Generative AI.” The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
The dialogue forms part of the embassy’s broader outreach to highlight India’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, innovation and digital public infrastructure, while encouraging the exchange of expertise and best practices.
The “India AI Impact Summit 2026” was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit in February 2025. It will be hosted in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, 2026, and will be the first global AI summit to be held in the Global South.
