Es’hailSat partners with Telesat to advance next-generation LEO connectivity

Qatar Satellite Company Es’hailSat has announced a strategic partnership with Canadian satellite operator Telesat to explore the deployment of next-generation low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity services in Qatar and selected international markets.

The collaboration aims to expand Es’hailSat’s satellite communications portfolio by integrating high-throughput, low-latency LEO capabilities alongside its existing satellite and teleport infrastructure. The partnership will focus on evaluating joint opportunities across government services, enterprise transformation initiatives, and mobility applications requiring resilient and scalable connectivity.

Es’hailSat CEO Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari said the agreement supports Qatar’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional leader in satellite communications while advancing international partnerships and introducing innovative connectivity solutions. Telesat CEO Dan Goldberg noted that the collaboration will help extend the reach of the company’s Lightspeed LEO network, designed to deliver secure and high-performance broadband services.

The companies will work together on service validation, market development, and potential infrastructure integration in Qatar, supporting future deployment of LEO-enabled connectivity solutions. The agreement reflects Es’hailSat’s broader strategy to enhance national capabilities and support long-term growth in the satellite, space, and telecommunications sectors.
