Comba Telecom, SCOMM Partner on In-Building 5G Solutions for Morocco

Hong Kong-based wireless infrastructure vendor Comba Telecom and Moroccan telecom integrator SICOTEL Communications (SCOMM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at GITEX Africa 2026 in Marrakech to jointly develop and deploy In-Building Solutions across Morocco as the country accelerates its 5G rollout under the Digital Morocco Plan 2030.

Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on identifying and pursuing indoor wireless coverage projects across commercial, industrial, and public venues, deploying Comba’s Passive and Active Distributed Antenna Systems including its ComFlex MAX platform. Morocco’s government is targeting more than 25% 5G coverage by end of 2026, with the country’s telecom market projected to reach $4.59 billion by 2030. The partnership will target high-density venues including shopping malls, office buildings, hotels, airports, and stadiums — with Morocco’s hosting of major international sporting events in 2030 adding urgency to the indoor connectivity buildout.

SCOMM, established in 2004, brings two decades of local market presence and relationships with Morocco’s major operators to the partnership. Comba’s ComFlex MAX platform has been deployed across more than 80 countries and is designed to reduce power consumption alongside performance gains, aligning with Morocco’s green infrastructure priorities.

Editor’s Note: Morocco’s 5G rollout is generating a steady stream of vendor partnerships, and the Comba-SCOMM deal adds an important dimension — indoor coverage, which is frequently the weakest link in early 5G deployments and critical for enterprise use cases. MEA Tech Watch will be watching how quickly the in-building pipeline materialises given Morocco’s 2030 events deadline, which creates genuine commercial urgency beyond the usual MoU timelines.
