RAKTA and Uber launch smart taxi booking service in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has partnered with Uber to introduce a smart taxi booking service, enhancing digital mobility options across the emirate.

The integration enables users to book RAKTA taxis directly through the Uber app, combining public transport infrastructure with a global ride-hailing platform. The initiative is designed to improve convenience, optimise fleet utilisation, and provide a seamless booking experience for residents and visitors.

By digitising taxi services, the partnership supports broader smart mobility goals, including improved service efficiency, real-time tracking, and enhanced customer experience. Integrating traditional taxi fleets into app-based ecosystems is becoming a key strategy for modernising urban transport.

The move aligns with the UAE’s wider digital transformation agenda, where technology is being used to enhance public services and infrastructure. Smart mobility solutions are a central component of this strategy, supporting urban development and tourism growth.

Ras Al Khaimah continues to invest in transport innovation, leveraging partnerships to deliver scalable and user-centric mobility services.
