Zain Bahrain, a prominent telecom provider in the Kingdom, has been honored with the “Sustainability in HR Award” at the HRM Summit Awards 2024, held on October 8. This accolade underscores Zain Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable practices and the wellbeing of its employees and the wider community.
Throughout 2024, Zain Bahrain launched and supported numerous impactful initiatives that contributed to its success in securing this award. These efforts highlight the company’s leadership in sustainability, accessibility, and digital transformation.
A significant initiative is the National E-Waste Competition, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Supreme Council for Environment, which saw students from over 20 schools collect more than 8 tons of e-waste.
Zain Bahrain also introduced “Natawasul,” a pioneering visual health service that employs sign language at primary healthcare centers, enhancing communication for the deaf community with healthcare staff. This initiative reflects Zain Bahrain’s strategy for diversity and inclusion, integral to its ESG standards.
Moreover, the company’s Paperless Initiative has successfully reduced over 13 tons of paper waste, improving operational efficiency through digitization. “We are incredibly proud to be recognized for our commitment to promoting sustainability and creating a positive impact,” remarked Fatima Haider, Zain Bahrain Senior Manager of Corporate Sustainability, Inclusivity, and Culture.
