RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will invest SR4.2 billion ($1.2 billion) to enhance the local digital content industry, following the Cabinet’s approval of the establishment of the Digital Content Council on Tuesday.
This newly formed entity will spearhead initiatives to promote the Kingdom’s rapidly growing digital content sector. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the council will receive funding for 36 initiatives aimed at developing skills and creating more jobs in areas such as video gaming, video production, and digital advertising.
The initiatives are part of a broader strategy to foster innovation, drive economic growth, and position Saudi Arabia as a leader in the global digital content market.
