Sparkle, Italy’s leading international service provider and a top global operator, has signed an agreement with Tunisie Telecom, the incumbent telecom operator in Tunisia, to provide International IP Transit services via a new route from Sicily to Milan.
Tunisie Telecom, a pioneer in Tunisia’s telecommunications sector, serves over 6 million subscribers, including enterprises and individuals, offering a wide range of services in fixed and mobile telecommunications, data centers, cloud, IoT, and managed security.
The agreement entails Sparkle providing high-speed international internet connectivity at its Point of Presence (PoP) in Milan and dedicated capacity on its new state-of-the-art submarine cable in the Tyrrhenian Sea from Palermo to Milan. This partnership makes Tunisie Telecom the first Tunisian operator to have a high-performance active route to Europe, ensuring full diversification, better performance, and the lowest latency compared to existing infrastructures. The new route caters to the increasing demand for advanced internet services and digital content in Tunisia, offering an exceptional data experience to Tunisie Telecom’s consumers and businesses.
This deal strengthens the historical partnership between the two operators, delivering top-quality and fully diversified internet solutions with the lowest latency to the Tunisian market.
