Hisense has inaugurated a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) center in Dubai Internet City, aimed at developing climate-friendly solutions tailored to the Middle East. The launch event was graced by numerous dignitaries including Dr. Abdul Rahman Hassan Almuaini from the UAE Ministry of Economy, Zen Zanrong of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, Chinese Consul General Ou Boqian, Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoquian, and leaders from Tecom Group and Dubai Internet City.
This new facility marks a significant step in Hisense’s strategy to enhance the Middle East’s innovation landscape and is tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of the local market, from weather adaptations to cultural compatibility.
Jia Shaoquian emphasized the strategic importance of the center, stating, “This facility underscores our long-term commitment to the Middle East. By focusing on the unique needs and challenges of local consumers, we aim to develop highly relevant and impactful solutions that ensure our products offer top quality and performance suited to regional market conditions.”
Ammar Al Malik, of Dubai Internet City, highlighted Dubai’s role as a global innovation leader, noting, “Hisense’s R&D center reinforces Dubai Internet City’s status as a technology hub, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the Dubai Research and Development Programme to foster resilience and innovation on a global scale.”
The R&D center will host over 40 specialists dedicated to enhancing products and services for the regional market. Initiatives will include advancing energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, aligning with Hisense’s commitment to green technologies.
In addition to product innovation, the center will also function as a training academy for Hisense’s regional sales and service teams and their B2C and B2B partners, ensuring high-quality customer support.
The establishment of Hisense’s R&D center places it among leading global technology firms such as Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, and MasterCard, all of which have innovation hubs in Dubai Internet City, collectively driving globally significant technological advancements.
