Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT), held a meeting with Keiichi Yoshimura, Director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Startup and International Financial City Strategy Office, to explore cooperation on digital innovation and entrepreneurship. This discussion occurred during Talaat’s visit to Japan for the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 conference, as reported by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
The meeting focused on strengthening ties between Egypt’s Creativa centers and Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB), particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and startup development. TIB, launched in May 2024 with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s support, collaborates with over 140 private-sector partners to assist startups in expanding globally.
In addition, Minister Talaat met with senior executives from Renesas Electronics, TDK, and Mitsubishi Electric to discuss potential investment opportunities in Egypt’s semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, and research and development sectors.
