VertiGIS has implemented its ConnectMaster network inventory management platform for Arabian Construction Company at Kuwait Airport, creating a unified digital record of the airport’s telecommunications infrastructure across passive network layers and active equipment.
The deployment is designed to improve visibility across a complex telecontrol network that supports critical airport operations, including the transmission of avionic and meteorological data between internal and external IT systems involved in air traffic control.
ConnectMaster creates unified view of airport network assets
Arabian Construction Company, which specialises in ICT, fire safety and digital transformation systems integration, is using VertiGIS ConnectMaster to manage both passive and active network infrastructure at Kuwait Airport.
The platform provides a consolidated record of network assets, connections and dependencies, giving engineering teams a clearer view of the physical network environment.
That visibility is particularly important in airport environments, where telecommunications infrastructure supports operational systems that must remain available continuously.
Telecontrol network supports flight operations
The airport’s telecontrol network carries avionic and meteorological data between systems involved in managing flight traffic from take-off through landing.
Because of the operational importance of those systems, accurate documentation of network components and the relationships between them is critical for planning, maintenance and fault response.
VertiGIS said ConnectMaster provides a digital foundation for managing the passive infrastructure supporting the telecontrol environment while helping teams plan network extensions and infrastructure changes as the airport expands.
Platform manages more than 1,200km of cabling
The scale of the deployment reflects the complexity of the airport’s telecommunications environment.
Using ConnectMaster, ACC manages approximately 350km of copper cabling and 850km of fibre infrastructure.
The platform also covers 200 cabinets and 270 routers and switches.
By centralising those records, engineering teams can identify where assets are located, understand how components are interconnected and assess dependencies before making changes to the network.
Automated fault location supports faster troubleshooting
ACC is also using VertiGIS ConnectMaster’s OTDR Fault Location Analyzer to automate the identification of faults within fibre infrastructure.
Optical time-domain reflectometry is commonly used to detect the location of faults, breaks and other issues in fibre-optic networks.
Integrating that capability with the wider network inventory can help engineers link a detected fault with the relevant physical infrastructure and accelerate troubleshooting.
For an airport operating around the clock, faster fault identification can contribute to service availability and reduce the time required to investigate network incidents.
Digital records support future airport expansion
The deployment is also intended to provide a stronger foundation for future network growth.
As Kuwait Airport expands, ACC can use the platform to model network extensions, plan infrastructure changes and maintain documentation across multiple network layers.
ACC CEO Eng. Wahid Selman said maintaining control over the airport’s network architecture and redundancy is essential, particularly when planning future expansion.
VertiGIS said its relationship with ACC around digital network management dates back to 2013.
