Riyadh-based game developer Takahouse has raised $1.5 million from Saudi investment firm Impact46 to accelerate the development of new games and interactive products as it seeks to expand its position in the Kingdom’s growing gaming industry.
Founded in 2018, Takahouse develops mobile games and interactive applications that combine entertainment with social engagement.
The company said the new funding will support product development and help it expand its portfolio as it works toward becoming a regional game developer and publisher.
Takahouse builds on WhistGame traction
Takahouse released its first title, WhistGame, in 2021.
The interactive card game has attracted more than 140,000 users to date, according to the company.
WhistGame is also available through Google Play, where it has recorded more than 100,000 downloads.
The title gives Takahouse an existing user base to build on as it develops additional games and products.
Funding to support new games and products
The $1.5 million investment will be used to accelerate development across Takahouse’s pipeline.
The company has not disclosed specific upcoming titles, launch dates or how the capital will be divided between game development, publishing and other products.
Its broader ambition is to move beyond individual releases and establish a stronger regional development and publishing presence.
That could allow Takahouse to retain more control over product development, distribution and long-term intellectual property creation.
Impact46 expands gaming investment portfolio
The investment also continues Impact46’s growing exposure to Saudi Arabia’s gaming sector.
In August, the investment firm co-led a $1.45 million funding round for Majestic Mind Games alongside Merak Capital.
Impact46 also invested more than $6.7 million across five Saudi game developers in 2025 through its SAR 150 million, or approximately $40 million, Gaming Fund.
Those investments included Fahy Games, NJD, Game Cooks, Starvania and Alpaka Games.
The Takahouse deal therefore adds another local developer to a portfolio increasingly focused on building gaming capabilities inside the Kingdom.
Saudi gaming ecosystem continues to attract capital
Saudi Arabia has been investing heavily in gaming and esports as part of its wider effort to diversify the economy and build new digital industries.
That strategy is creating more funding opportunities for local studios, particularly those able to demonstrate user traction and develop original intellectual property.
For smaller developers, access to local growth capital can help extend development cycles, expand teams and increase the number of titles they are able to bring to market.
Why this matters
The importance of the Takahouse investment lies less in the size of the round and more in the continued flow of dedicated capital into Saudi game development.
Impact46 is building a portfolio across multiple local studios rather than concentrating on a single company, which could help strengthen the wider development ecosystem.
For Takahouse, the next stage will be whether it can use WhistGame’s existing traction to develop additional successful products and move toward a sustainable multi-title business.
Editor’s note
Saudi Arabia’s gaming strategy will ultimately depend on more than attracting international publishers and hosting large esports events.
Building a durable local industry requires studios capable of creating original games, retaining intellectual property and developing products that can scale regionally and internationally.
Takahouse’s funding is another small but relevant indicator of that shift. The real test will be whether the company can convert capital into repeatable game development, stronger user growth and a broader publishing pipeline.
