Zain KSA, a leading telecom and digital solutions provider in Saudi Arabia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nokia to boost its 5G and 5G-Advanced capabilities using Cloud RAN and AI RAN technologies. The agreement, finalized during the LEAP 2025 event in Riyadh, aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the telecom sector and develop a future-proof infrastructure that supports open wireless networks.
This collaboration aligns with Zain KSA’s strategy to integrate cutting-edge technologies into its network to enhance efficiency and performance. Cloud RAN offers a flexible and scalable infrastructure, improving network reliability, while AI RAN introduces automation and real-time data analytics, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency. The partnership will also support next-generation technologies such as 6G, IoT, and AI.

Zain KSA and Nokia recently conducted the first-ever live trial of 5G-Advanced Cloud RAN technology in Saudi Arabia.
