Maroc Telecom has formed a strategic partnership with Visa Corporation to enhance digital payments and financial inclusion across Morocco and its African subsidiaries. The collaboration will integrate Visa payment services with MT Cash, Maroc Telecom’s mobile money solution, empowering users with more accessible digital financial services.
The alliance aims to expand digital financial services and accelerate Africa’s digital transformation, especially by providing tailored payment solutions for underserved populations. As the Moroccan e-commerce market grows, expected to reach $3 billion by 2027, this partnership positions Maroc Telecom and Visa at the forefront of Morocco’s evolving digital economy.
Data shows that by 2025, about 20% of Morocco’s population aged 15 and older will engage in digital payments, with a higher participation rate among men (25%) compared to women (15%). This partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the increase in digital payment adoption, further promoting financial inclusion in the region.
