Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, is poised for a significant collaboration with global cloud computing leader SAP. The partnership aims to bring SAP’s public cloud services to Moro’s solar-powered Green Data Centre, the world’s largest of its kind, located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This pioneering initiative opens doors for UAE public and private sector organizations to reduce their environmental footprint by leveraging SAP’s cloud solutions hosted by Moro.
The announcement was made at the Dubai Business Forum 2023, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable computing technologies in alignment with the UAE’s clean energy and net-zero emissions strategies.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), highlighted the importance of this move in advancing sustainability in the UAE. Sergio Maccotta, Senior Vice President of SAP Middle East and Africa – South, expressed optimism about SAP’s increased investment in the UAE and the potential hosting of SAP’s public cloud in Moro’s carbon-neutral data centre.
