Bahrain Wins Top Honors at GCC Digital Government Awards for eParticipation and Cybersecurity Innovation

The Kingdom of Bahrain has earned top recognition at the GCC Digital Government Awards in Kuwait, highlighting its leadership in digital transformation and innovation across the Gulf. Bahrain’s National eParticipation Platform and Cyber Guardian Game both secured first-place wins, while the MyGov app received a recognition award for its unified service experience.

Organized by the GCC General Secretariat and hosted by the State of Kuwait, the awards celebrate excellence in digital governance and encourage innovation to enhance quality of life across member states.

Developed by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), the National eParticipation Platform (bahrain.bh/sharekna) won first place in the Best Practice in Community eParticipation category for enabling citizens and residents to contribute to decision-making and policy design. The MyGov app was recognized in the Best Unified Government App category for simplifying access to government services.

The Cyber Guardian Game, developed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), claimed first place in the Best Educational Digital Game category, reinforcing Bahrain’s focus on digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness.

iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed expressed pride in the awards, noting that the recognition affirms Bahrain’s growing record of digital excellence under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al Qaed also congratulated General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for ICT, for his leadership in driving Bahrain’s digital progress. He commended the iGA and NCSC teams for their innovation, collaboration, and commitment to enhancing national digital capabilities.

He emphasized that the awards reflect Bahrain’s commitment to building a digitally empowered society, integrating advanced technologies, and promoting regional cooperation in the GCC’s ICT ecosystem.
