InfraX, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MEA-Comm, a leading UAE-based system integrator, to accelerate the growth of industrial IoT and smart city solutions across the United Arab Emirates.
The partnership, announced during GITEX Global 2025, focuses on jointly developing and deploying advanced private wireless IoT networks, edge computing, and digital twin technologies to support utilities, manufacturing, and other critical industries.
Under the agreement, both companies will conduct technical and commercial assessments to design real-time, AI-powered platforms that enhance automation, operational resilience, and intelligent decision-making in industrial environments.
Rashid Alahmedi, Chief Operating Officer of InfraX, said:
“This collaboration with MEA-Comm marks a major step in our mission to drive digital transformation across the smart city and industrial sectors. By integrating AI, edge computing, and digital twins within private IoT networks, we are laying the foundation for a more connected, intelligent, and sustainable future.”
Dr. Abdulhadi AbouAlmal, CEO of MEA-Comm, highlighted the project’s alignment with the UAE’s Industry 4.0 ambitions, noting that it will enable next-generation automation, predictive maintenance, and real-time monitoring.
“Together, we are enabling new industrial use cases that set benchmarks for operational excellence, safety, and digital innovation in the region,” he said.
The collaboration will also engage global technology leaders to integrate best practices and advanced solutions into Dubai’s digital infrastructure. By combining InfraX’s expertise in smart city systems with MEA-Comm’s leadership in private wireless IoT networks, the initiative aims to strengthen national sustainability goals and advance the UAE’s position as a regional innovation hub.
