Algiers to host 4th African Startup Conference in December

Algeria will host the fourth African Startup Conference in Algiers from December 6 to 8, bringing together more than 200 exhibitors, investors, and innovation leaders from across the continent and beyond. The event is expected to attract around 25,000 visitors, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises Noureddine Ouadah announced on Thursday.

Held under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the conference aims to strengthen Africa’s interconnected innovation ecosystem and promote deeper collaboration among startups, governments, and private investors. The programme includes a ministerial summit gathering more than 40 African ministers, alongside international organisations and tech investors, to exchange expertise and shape future policies in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Rwanda has been named the “guest of honor” for this edition in recognition of its remarkable advancements in digital innovation. Algeria also intends to expand its cooperation with African nations to build stronger entrepreneurial ties.

Minister Ouadah highlighted the launch of a presidentially mandated startup financing fund dedicated to supporting young innovators across Africa. The fund aims to empower youth and enable their contributions to the continent’s growing knowledge economy.
