Doha, Qatar: Qatar is strengthening its position as a regional leader in secure digital infrastructure and mission-critical connectivity, reflecting a national focus on resilience, innovation, and security.
Speaking on the sidelines of DIMDEX 2026, Mohammed Mohsin Alyafei, Enterprise Business Unit Director at Vodafone Qatar, said the country’s digital ecosystem is increasingly designed to support high-risk and complex operational environments across maritime, defence, and public safety sectors.
“Vodafone Qatar supports maritime and public safety sectors through secure communications and resilient digital infrastructure designed for demanding and high-risk environments,” he said.
Alyafei explained that advanced mobile, fixed, private network, and satellite capabilities are enabling reliable communications, operational continuity, and real-time visibility for organisations where security and resilience are essential.
At DIMDEX 2026, Vodafone Qatar showcased a portfolio of advanced connectivity solutions and smart technology services tailored for mission-critical operations. These include secure command communications, real-time operational monitoring using digital twin technology, deployable private 5G networks, enterprise-grade satellite connectivity for maritime and remote environments, and secure safety communications.
“These solutions are designed to enhance operational efficiency and secure communications in critical settings,” he noted.
According to Alyafei, advanced connectivity has become central to situational awareness and operational readiness.
“Technologies such as 5G and private networks enable real-time data exchange, low-latency communications, and secure access to critical information,” he said. “This supports faster decision-making and ensures teams remain connected, informed, and responsive, even in complex or rapidly changing environments.”
He highlighted the strategic role of mobile operators in Qatar’s broader digital transformation.
“Mobile operators play a pivotal role in advancing the nation’s digital transformation by delivering secure, high-performance 5G connectivity, enabling innovative government services, and strengthening national security through advanced cybersecurity, identity-verification tools, and mission-critical communications,” he said.
By integrating connectivity with artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and cloud technologies, Vodafone Qatar continues to support government and security entities with resilient, future-ready digital infrastructure.
A key development at DIMDEX 2026 was Vodafone Qatar’s new partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink, expanding satellite connectivity for mission-critical and maritime operations.
Alyafei said the partnership enables reliable connectivity in remote and hard-to-reach environments. As Qatar’s first B2B reseller of Starlink services, Vodafone Qatar is strengthening its satellite portfolio alongside its mobile, fixed, and private network infrastructure.
The company will deliver end-to-end satellite services, including installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing support, ensuring continuous connectivity for critical operations.
As Qatar aligns advanced connectivity with national security and public safety priorities, industry leaders say secure digital infrastructure across land, sea, and remote environments will define the country’s next phase of technological resilience.
