Banglalink and Huawei Partner to Launch ‘Mukto Pay’ Digital Payment Platform in Bangladesh

Banglalink’s payment service subsidiary, Neo PSP, has signed a landmark agreement with Huawei to develop a next-generation digital payments platform branded as Mukto Pay. The deal, finalized at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, marks a major step in Banglalink’s transition from a traditional telecommunications provider to a comprehensive digital operator. By utilizing Huawei’s globally recognized mobile financial services technology, the new platform aims to provide secure, real-time, and high-volume digital transactions across Bangladesh, specifically targeting unbanked and under-banked communities to foster greater financial inclusion.

Under the partnership, Mukto Pay will leverage a bank-grade security infrastructure designed for high reliability and scalability. The name “Mukto,” meaning “liberation,” signifies the company’s vision of freeing financial services from traditional barriers and making them accessible to the general population. While the Bangladesh Bank has already issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the project, the official commercial launch is set to begin immediately following final regulatory approvals. This initiative aligns with the country’s broader digital transformation goals, seeking to integrate seamless cashless payments into the daily lives of millions of citizens.
