stc Bahrain partners with UiPath to expand enterprise automation services

stc Bahrain has signed a strategic reseller partnership with UiPath to deliver enterprise-grade robotic process automation and broader automation technologies, expanding the operator’s managed services portfolio beyond connectivity and infrastructure hosting.

The agreement was announced at LEAP in Riyadh and will enable stc Bahrain to offer automation services covering process discovery, workflow automation and more advanced enterprise automation capabilities.

Partnership expands stc Bahrain’s enterprise services portfolio

The collaboration is designed to position stc Bahrain as an end-to-end automation services provider for business and public-sector customers.

Under the partnership, the company will be able to support organisations across different stages of automation, from identifying processes that can be automated through to deploying and managing automated workflows.

The move adds another layer to stc Bahrain’s broader digital services strategy as telecom operators across the region increasingly look beyond core connectivity for new sources of enterprise revenue.

UiPath technology to support workflow automation

UiPath is best known for robotic process automation, which uses software to automate repetitive, rules-based business tasks.

The partnership will allow stc Bahrain to integrate those capabilities into its managed services offering and target customers seeking to streamline complex workflows and reduce reliance on manual processes.

Potential use cases can span back-office operations, customer service, finance, human resources and other process-heavy functions, although stc Bahrain has not announced specific customer deployments under the agreement.

Focus on enterprise and public-sector customers

stc Bahrain said the partnership is expected to create new revenue opportunities across enterprise and government markets.

The company is positioning automation as part of a wider digital transformation proposition rather than as a standalone software resale offering.

That approach could allow stc Bahrain to combine automation services with its existing capabilities in connectivity, cloud, hosting and managed infrastructure.

CEO Khalid AlOsaimi said the agreement represents an important step in the company’s digital transformation strategy.

“Our partnership with UiPath marks a significant step in stc Bahrain’s digital transformation journey, enabling us to deliver enterprise-grade automation technologies that help our customers reduce costs, improve efficiency and accelerate their own transformation,” he said.

Telecom operators move further into managed digital services

The agreement reflects a wider shift across the telecom sector.

Operators are increasingly using their enterprise relationships, infrastructure footprint and managed services capabilities to expand into cloud, cybersecurity, AI and automation.

For stc Bahrain, adding UiPath-based automation could help strengthen its position with organisations seeking fewer technology suppliers and more integrated transformation services.

Rather than simply providing the underlying network or hosting environment, the operator can potentially take on a larger role in redesigning and automating business processes.

Why this matters

Enterprise automation is becoming an increasingly important growth area for telecom operators seeking to diversify beyond traditional connectivity revenues.

The stc Bahrain-UiPath partnership gives the operator a clearer route into process automation while allowing it to build on existing relationships with enterprise and public-sector customers.

The commercial opportunity will depend on whether stc Bahrain can move beyond software resale and develop strong implementation, integration and managed-service capabilities around the UiPath platform.

Editor’s note

The strategic value of this agreement lies in stc Bahrain’s attempt to move higher up the enterprise technology stack.

Connectivity remains the foundation, but automation gives the operator an opportunity to become more involved in the way customers actually run their businesses.

The key execution test will be whether stc Bahrain can build repeatable industry solutions and consulting capabilities around UiPath. If it does, the partnership could support a broader shift from telecom provider to digital operations partner across Bahrain and potentially the wider region.
