Jazz has invested over Rs33 billion in Pakistan’s digital ecosystem in 2024, focusing on sectors such as telecom, fintech, and data centers. These efforts have resulted in 25% revenue growth, strengthening its role in the country’s digital transformation. The company also contributes Rs97 billion to Pakistan’s national economy.
Jazz has reported $1 billion in revenue for the first nine months of 2024, marking a strong recovery after two years of underperformance. The company’s success is attributed to its pivot to a ServiceCo model, digital transformation efforts, and expansion in fintech services like JazzCash.
VEON’s Jazz has partnered with Standard Chartered Bank to establish a regional availability zone through its enterprise solutions arm, Garaj. This collaboration aims to enhance SCB’s operational resilience and customer experience by providing advanced data center services in Pakistan, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to digital transformation.
Jazz is set to phase out its 3G services by November 2024, becoming Pakistan’s first telecom operator to do so. This transition is part of the “4G for All” initiative, aimed at enhancing mobile broadband access and improving communication infrastructure to support digital transformation and economic growth in the country.
Veon subsidiary Jazz has secured a PKR75 billion (US$270 million) loan to expand its infrastructure and transition from a telecom company to a technology services provider. The credit facility, led by The Bank of Punjab, is the largest long-term private sector syndicated credit facility in Pakistan, enabling Jazz to enhance digital infrastructure and invest in cloud, software, and financial services.
Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, in partnership with AT&T, has launched Pakistan’s first VoLTE roaming services in the US. This service ensures superior voice quality and faster call setup for Jazz customers traveling to the US, especially since AT&T has discontinued its 2G and 3G services.
