LankaPay, Sri Lanka’s National Payment Network, has unveiled the seventh edition of the LankaPay Technnovation Awards 2025, an event dedicated to recognizing digital payment innovations across the country. This year’s event, set for March 26th at Shangri-la Colombo, celebrates financial institutions and FinTech pioneers reshaping the financial ecosystem.
The event, supported by Mastercard, UnionPay, Alipay+, and others, aims to drive financial inclusivity and enhance the country’s national payment network. Award categories will honor achievements in digital payments, customer convenience, retail payments, mobile applications, financial inclusivity, and innovative banking solutions.
The Technnovation Awards continue to be a significant platform in Sri Lanka’s growing digital economy, with winners selected based on their impact from April 2023 to December 2024. The awards are judged by an esteemed panel of industry leaders, including experts from the Colombo Stock Exchange, Ernst & Young Sri Lanka, and Kapruka PLC.
The event’s strategic partner, Mastercard, marks its first year with the Technnovation Awards, while UnionPay and JCB International continue their long-standing support. This initiative plays a crucial role in enhancing Sri Lanka’s digital payment landscape and its economic growth under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s financial inclusion goals.
