Qatar processed payment transactions worth QR18.626bn (around $5.11bn) in November 2025, with total transaction volumes reaching 62.806 million, according to data released by Qatar Central Bank (QCB). Point-of-sale payments accounted for the largest share at 51 percent, followed by instant payments via the Fawran service at 24 percent, e-commerce at 23 percent, and Qatar Mobile Payment at 2 percent.
Card-based payments continued to gain traction, with combined point-of-sale and e-commerce transactions reaching QR13.81bn. E-commerce alone recorded QR4.35bn in value from 11.44 million transactions, while point-of-sale payments reached QR9.46bn across 48.11 million transactions. QCB said POS infrastructure supports contactless cards, e-wallets, mobile POS, and QR-based payments, contributing to higher adoption.
Instant payments through the Fawran system also showed strong uptake, with 3.56 million registered accounts and transactions worth QR4.53bn. Meanwhile, Qatar Mobile Payment registered 1.24 million wallets, processing QR289.5m across more than 441,000 transactions. QCB said these developments support efforts to strengthen digital payments infrastructure and align with national financial sector strategies.
