The third edition of the African CIO Awards takes place in Marrakech on 7 and 8 April 2026, bringing together chief information officers, public sector decision-makers, technology companies and digital policy experts from across the continent to recognise leadership in enterprise digital transformation.
The awards, organised by CIO Mag Africa, highlight technology projects and IT leadership initiatives that have delivered measurable organisational impact. This year’s programme covers digital transformation of public administrations, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, digital inclusion and the financing of technology infrastructure — themes that closely track the continental policy agenda articulated in last week’s Algiers Declaration on African Telecommunications Sovereignty.
The choice of Marrakech positions the event alongside GITEX Africa Morocco, which opens the same day, concentrating an unusually dense week of African digital economy activity in a single city.
Editor’s Note: MEA Tech Watch will follow up with award winners and key announcements from the sessions after the two-day programme concludes on 8 April.
