Batelco Joins GSMA’s Open Gateway Initiative to Drive Telecom Innovation

Manama, Bahrain – Batelco, part of the Beyon Group, has partnered with the GSMA to join its Open Gateway Initiative. This collaboration will provide Batelco with access to standardized open network APIs, enabling the development and deployment of innovative solutions across various use cases.   

By utilizing the Open Gateway APIs, Batelco aims to:

  • Enhance Mobile Edge Computing: Develop solutions for enhanced mobile edge computing, enabling faster and more efficient data processing at the network edge.   
  • Improve Fraud Detection: Implement real-time fraud detection capabilities to enhance security for its customers.
  • Advance IoT Connectivity: Develop advanced IoT connectivity solutions to support the growing number of connected devices.
  • Optimize Network Slicing: Provide optimized network slicing for enterprise customers, enabling customized network solutions for different business needs.

“This collaboration marks a pivotal step in our ongoing efforts to accelerate network advancements and bring leading-edge technology solutions to our customers,” said Rashid Mohamed, Chief Technology Officer of Batelco.   

The partnership will also enable Batelco to deploy advanced 5G capabilities, improve network efficiency, and enhance service scalability, ultimately leading to better customer experiences.

The GSMA’s Open Gateway Initiative aims to drive the development of new 5G services and accelerate digital transformation for individuals and businesses.
