The Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Seyyed Sattar Hashemi, announced that the country’s plan to build and develop 5G internet for mobile data is nearing completion. The process of transferring a new 1500 MHz frequency broadband for 5G development has commenced, laying the foundation for its rollout. Hashemi highlighted that once implemented, 5G will significantly enhance the speed and quality of mobile internet. The government is also working on securing access to 700 and 800 MHz frequency bands for wider access. Previously, Deputy ICT Minister Hamid Fattahi noted that some technical issues remain for finalizing the 5G plan.
