The Coding Academies by Orange Jordan aim to enhance programming skills among young women and men, crucial for the accelerating digital world. To support this mission, Orange Jordan has signed a €1-million strategic partnership agreement with Proparco, the private sector financing arm of Agence Française de Développement Group (AFD Group), to execute its digital inclusion vision.
The signing ceremony took place at Orange Digital Village in Amman, with Orange Jordan’s CEO Philippe Mansour and French Ambassador to Jordan Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison signing on behalf of Proparco, witnessed by executives from both parties.
This partnership will expand Orange Coding Academies in Zarqa, Aqaba, Irbid, and Balqa, increasing the number of beneficiaries by enriching their digital knowledge and offering training for employment to improve labor market opportunities.
Philippe Mansour highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership, noting its role in extending the reach of Orange Jordan’s digital programs, especially the Coding Academies, to equip students with essential skills for the job market.
Sebastien Fleury, Regional Director Middle East, Proparco, emphasized the partnership’s benefits for Jordanian youth, stating that vocational training and innovation programs at the Orange Digital Center are key to ensuring employment access. He noted that by creating these opportunities, Orange is strengthening Jordan’s digital sector and its regional leadership.
Additionally, the collaboration includes a USD 15-million agreement to support the expansion of Orange Jordan’s fiber optic network across all Jordanian governorates, ensuring broader access to internet services.
