Zong Secures Top Position in PTA’s Latest Quality of Service Rankings

Zong 4G has emerged as Pakistan’s best-performing mobile network in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)’s latest Quality of Service (QoS) survey for Q3 2025, outperforming competitors across key metrics including 4G coverage, voice quality, SMS performance, and broadband throughput.

Survey Scope and Methodology

The PTA’s independent survey covered 17 cities and two major highways, testing approximately 46,000 voice calls and SMS messages alongside 0.33 million broadband samples. The assessment measured multiple KPIs such as call setup success rate, data throughput, latency, and web browsing experience.

Category-Wise Performance

  • 4G Coverage:
    Zong led the national rankings, achieving compliance across 15 cities for 4G and 11 cities for 3G coverage. Jazz followed with 13 compliant cities, Ufone with 12, and Telenor with 6.
  • Voice Quality:
    Zong topped the voice call category, achieving 86 compliant QoS KPIs against 9 non-compliant, reflecting superior network accessibility, call setup success, and completion rates.
  • Data and Broadband Performance:
    Zong maintained strong consistency in broadband throughput, outperforming rivals in average download and upload speeds. Although Jazz led in auto-mode latency (68 ms) and web browsing speed in select cities, Zong’s third-party latency results showed broad compliance in 18 cities, tying with Ufone for second place.

  • Jazz ranked second overall, performing strongly in auto-mode download throughput and web loading times.
  • Ufone and Telenor placed third and fourth, respectively, with competitive results in specific categories such as latency and web browsing performance.

PTA clarified that the report represents comparative performance across selected areas rather than the entire country. A top ranking in this survey indicates relative superiority among tested networks, not flawless nationwide service.
