The third edition of the Global AI Summit (GAIN) will be held from September 10 to 12, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing together technology leaders from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). Hosted by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), GAIN 2024 will focus on key themes such as Generative AI, AI in urban life, and the ethical governance of AI, fostering a comprehensive dialogue on the technology’s impact on society, business, and governance.
The event, set to take place at the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center, will feature over 300 speakers from more than 100 countries, including global leaders and AI specialists. These experts will drive AI discussions and pave the way for international collaborations that promote ethical innovation and advance global AI initiatives.
High-profile sessions will include debates on the future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), panels on AI-powered precision medicine, and workshops on AI’s role in sustainable development and smart cities. Notable participants include top executives from Silicon Valley, influential policymakers, and renowned AI researchers, such as Cristiano Amon, President & CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated; Professor Simon See, Global Head at Nvidia AI Technology Centre; Antony Cook, Deputy General Counsel at Microsoft; Nick Studer, President & CEO of Oliver Wyman Group; and Caroline Yap, Global Managing Director at Google Cloud. These leaders will explore the future of AI governance, ethical AI frameworks, and the role of international cooperation in harnessing AI’s potential.
Organized under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, GAIN 2024 will also feature participation from industry giants like Accenture, Oracle, Dell Technologies, Siemens, Boston Dynamics, and Google Cloud.
Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, President of SDAIA, highlighted the significance of the summit, stating, “As we approach the third edition of the Global AI Summit, we stand on the brink of a new era where AI’s transformative power will be harnessed to explore AI through the lens of ‘Now, Next, Never.’ The need for international collaboration to fully harness AI’s potential and manage its impact responsibly has never been more urgent.”
He further emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing AI technologies for the benefit of humanity under the visionary leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Dr. Alghamdi expressed enthusiasm for welcoming global leaders and innovators to Riyadh to collectively explore how AI can create a brighter, more inclusive future.
GAIN 2024 is expected to be a catalyst for global AI innovation, offering attendees over 120 interactive sessions, networking opportunities with industry pioneers, and the chance to contribute to groundbreaking AI collaborations. The summit will also witness the signing of several agreements and announcements between SDAIA and global AI technology giants.
