Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani recently met with SAP representatives to review an executive summary outlining a roadmap for Iraq’s digital transformation. The discussion underscored the government’s commitment to modernizing its digital infrastructure, a vital step after decades of technological disconnection due to wars and sanctions.
Al-Sudani stressed the importance of closing the technological gap that has delayed Iraq’s development during a pivotal time in global digital advancement. In response, the government has prioritized digital transformation across all state levels.
To lead this initiative, a high-level committee, chaired by the Prime Minister and composed of ministers and government heads, has been formed. The committee will focus on accelerating progress by leveraging new opportunities and strengthening existing successful projects. The government is currently reviewing past initiatives to ensure Iraq makes meaningful advancements in its digital transformation efforts.
