Thuraya Telecommunications Company, the mobile satellite services subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), has introduced IP NEO, the first in a new line of next-generation satellite communication products.
The state-of-the-art IP NEO is designed to offer powerful simultaneous voice and data transfer capabilities, making it ideal for government agencies, non-governmental organizations, the energy sector, and various enterprise use cases.

Developed in collaboration with Cobham Satcom, a leading manufacturer of robust satcom solutions, IP NEO reflects Thuraya’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge satellite communication solutions that cater to the evolving needs of its customers.
Data Terminal Features
The IP NEO is a lightweight, portable satellite L-band broadband data terminal. It is part of a comprehensive portfolio of products based on a robust platform from Cobham Satcom. This product leverages the advanced capabilities of the Thuraya 4 Next Generation System (T4-NGS) to provide enhanced connectivity services and extended coverage.
Key Features of IP NEO:
- Higher Throughput: Once the T4 becomes operational in 2025, IP NEO will offer data throughput of up to 1 Mbps.
- Industry-Specific Needs: The IP NEO is tailored to provide a wide range of capabilities suitable for various communication scenarios, including government, energy and utilities, non-governmental agencies, and first responders.
- Simultaneous Voice and Data: With the ability to handle both voice and data simultaneously, IP NEO ensures uninterrupted communication in any environment. It can integrate third-party VoIP solutions, making it a flexible and competitive option.
Upcoming Product Launches
Thuraya plans to launch a broader portfolio of next-generation broadband products in the coming months. This includes commercial and government “communications-on-the-move” vehicular terminals, maritime terminals, and new mobile gateways for both commercial and government customers.
