UAE telecommunications company du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has announced a strategic partnership with STL, a leading optical and digital solutions provider, to enhance its fibre-dense mobile and FTTH networks across the UAE. This collaboration underscores du’s commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences through rapid network expansion.

As part of the new five-year contract, STL will supply advanced optical cable designs with bend-resistant fibre to improve network performance, particularly in FTTH networks. STL’s products aim to enable du to deploy networks more quickly and cost-effectively, reducing both CapEx and OpEx.

This partnership announcement follows the UAE’s recognition as the global leader in fibre to the home (FTTH) penetration for the eighth consecutive year, with a penetration rate of 99.3%, according to the latest FTTH Council report. The UAE continues to outperform other countries such as Singapore (97.1%), Hong Kong (95.3%), China (92.9%), and South Korea (91.5%) in fibre optic network penetration.
