Telenor Velocity, the startup accelerator arm of Telenor Pakistan, has joined forces with Google to support and elevate tech ventures in Pakistan. This collaboration aims to transform Pakistan’s technology landscape by identifying and nurturing promising tech startups.
As part of this partnership, Telenor Velocity has become a Community Partner for the Google Cloud Startup Competition Pakistan 2024, a major initiative that promises to drive innovation and growth within the local startup ecosystem. The partnership kicked off with the Islamabad edition of the ‘Master Your Pitch’ series at Telenor Pakistan’s 345 campus, where young innovators had the opportunity to present their ideas and gain feedback from a panel of industry veterans from Zayn VC, Accelerate Prosperity, and the National Incubation Center Islamabad.
The event included workshops and sessions led by industry leaders on building sustainable business models and the application of Generative AI. Experts from Google and local developer groups also shared insights to assist the participating startups.
The Google Cloud Startup Competition invites startups to compete in various tracks, such as AI, e-commerce, fintech, digital technologies, and sustainability, with support from Tech Valley Pakistan. This competition will culminate in a Grand Finals event in Karachi in late July 2024, where finalists will pitch their ventures to a panel of judges and industry leaders.
Winners will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1 million each, along with exclusive opportunities to network with top venture capitalists, further propelling innovation and entrepreneurship across Pakistan.
